Waste Collection

As your daily office cleaning contractor, Xenon collect office waste and dispose of this in one of two streams. Waste is transported either for recycling or for incineration (waste to energy). The recycling is carried out at a MERF (Mixed Recycling plant) in Barking, Essex. At the waste recycling plant the sacks of waste are tipped from our dust cart and travel through a variety of machines designed to extract the maximum amount of recyclables and segregate into glass, cans, plastic, cardboard and paper.

The waste or non-recyclable material is transported to a waste incinerator (or "waste to energy" plant) in North London. The waste is burnt creating heat and energy and this energy fuels an electricity generating turbine that in turn supplies the national grid and reduces the need for electricity production using fossil fuels.
